The 555,555th visitor: a special moment
September 2024 was a month full of anticipation and excitement. On a sunny autumn day, our 555,555th guest entered the museum and was personally welcomed by our Managing Director Nikolina Lackovic. Such a memorable moment is not often achieved and the joy was written all over the faces of everyone present. This special moment was honoured with a small celebration and a gift for the lucky visitor.
Since opening in October 2018, our museum has continued to develop and improve. Most recently, exciting installations were added in March 2024, such as our popular Infinity Dodecahedron and our PinArt, as well as a new room, which now houses our Brain Gym with XXL Dilemma Games for joint puzzle fun.
But it's not just the different exhibits that contribute to the living history of our museum, but also all the visitors who walk through our doors.
An impressive variety of guests immerse themselves in the world of illusions with us. From families looking for something to do indoors when it rains, young people on a school trip in Hamburg and school groups studying the subject of illusions in art lessons, to senior citizens looking for an interactive exhibition where they can be children again.
We also receive unusual enquiries from people planning an event with us or looking for a special photo location. We don't want to withhold our top three highlights of the last few years from you!
Our top 3 unusual visitors in recent yearsBarbara Schöneberger
• Barbara Schöneberger - Barbara was looking for an unusual location for a photo shoot and found us. The perfect match! As a head on a platter or hanging from the ceiling - she showed full commitment and had a lot of fun with us.
• Zirkus Roncalli - Other special guests included the performers from Circus Roncallis, who visited us during their performance in Hamburg. They explored our exhibition with colourful costumes and acrobatics. This was great for wonderful pictures, but also brought joy to the other visitors who were exploring the exhibition in the meantime.
• Hamburg Furs - Over 20 enthusiasts dressed up as teddy bears, wolves or fantasy animals from the Hamburg furs community visited us for a joint tour of our exhibition. An unusual experience of a special kind. We were delighted to offer this community a place to experience and explore together.
The reason why so many different people visit our museum lies not only in the exhibitions themselves, but also in the atmosphere we create. Our management and the entire team work tirelessly to ensure that every visitor feels welcome and inspired. The positive feedback we receive on site, by email or online gives us always motivation!
Future projects
Our aim is to continue to be a place of inspiration and learning and to ensure that our museum remains attractive in the future. In order to present even more fascinating exhibits, we are currently in talks about renting additional space to expand our exhibition area by 100 square metres. Opening a location in another German city is another possibility that we see for ourselves in the future.
The 555,555th visitor is a sign that we are on the right track and that there are still many exciting adventures ahead of us.
