Our northern neighbors, the Danes, give their loved ones white snowdrops as a sign of affection. In Germany, Valentine's Day only became popular after World War II. Germans are very traditional when it comes to choosing gifts. Flowers, restaurant visits, sweets and chocolates, as well as vouchers are well received. According to a survey by Statista and the market research institute YouGov from 2020, furniture, household appliances, and electrical appliances are, on the other hand, absolutely unpopular gifts for both men and women in Germany.
